ABOUT
I’m a Cambodian-American filmmaker, creative director, editor, and founder based in Los Angeles.
My work has taken me through edit rooms, sound stages, agency offices, restaurant kitchens, family stories, and the strange in-between places where culture becomes memory and memory becomes something you can share. Over the past two decades, I’ve made films, campaigns, documentaries, and branded work for companies including Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nike, Audi, Nutella, PBS, and PlayStation.
But I’ve never been interested in work that only looks good. I’m drawn to stories with a pulse — stories that carry the feeling of where someone came from, what they lost, what they love, what they’re trying to hold onto. Whether I’m directing a commercial, shaping a documentary, building a brand, or creating a food concept, I’m usually looking for the same thing: the small human truth underneath it all.
I founded Champion & King Creative Studios as a home for film, design, and emotionally driven brand storytelling. Later, I opened Gamboge, a Cambodian restaurant in Lincoln Heights, because food felt like another kind of cinema — a way to tell stories through flavor, hospitality, family history, and the simple act of gathering around a table.
My work sits somewhere between film, food, culture, memory, and identity. I’m interested in the things that make people feel seen. The things that remind us where we come from. The things that bring people together, even briefly, and make the world feel a little more human.
